We value community participation in all aspects of the
CHC to provide opportunities for community members to
have a voice. Community health centres are governed by
an elected volunteer Board of Directors.
The East Mississauga CHC will be asking for volunteers
interested in participating on the Coordinating Council.
The Coordinating Council, chosen by the Membership
Committee, will have a variety of responsibilities in
the strategic development and community responsiveness
of the East Mississauga CHC. Please check back in the
Fall 2006 for more information on how to submit a
nomination to the Membership Committee.
Why would I go to a CHC?If you can answer yes to any of the following questions,
you could benefit from a CHC:
- Do you want to be part of a healthy community?
- Do you want to find answers and information regarding
your own or family or friends’ health right in your own
community?
- Do you want access to health services that offer a
continuum of care?
- Do you want to celebrate your community with other
residents?
- Do you want to meet people and volunteer and share
your talents?
- Do you want to take action on community issues?
- Do you want to increase your access to social
programs like literacy groups, youth drop-ins, and
diabetes education?
- Do you want increased access to primary health care
services?
- Do you want to participate in the way your health
care is administered?
